Nov. 19—The Missouri Department of Conservation will hold its annual holiday open house from 10 a.m. to 2:30 p.m. Saturday, Dec. 14, at the Shoal Creek Conservation Education Center, 201 W. Riviera Drive in Joplin’s Wildcat Park.
There will be light refreshments and holiday activities. Participants will learn how to recycle last year’s Natural Events Calendar into this year’s holiday gifts. The event will involved crafting a variety of nature ornaments to take home. Visitors also can make seed balls with Chert Glade Master Naturalists. There will be a performance of the Joplin High School Strolling Strings at 1 p.m.
The Wildcat Glades Nature Group Nature store also will be open for shopping.
