Shasta County released a new wave of vote results on Tuesday night. Here’s what they show

Shasta County elections officials released the latest vote results on Tuesday night, two weeks after the polls closed on Nov. 5.

Elections workers have counted 75,661 ballots so far, according to updated elections data. But there are still more ballots to tally, Shasta County Clerk and Registrar of Voters Tom Toller has said.

All told, 13,650 ballots still need to be processed. The elections office said on Tuesday that it will release the next batch of results on Nov. 22 at 6 p.m.

Follow updates as the votes get counted: Redding, Shasta County election results 2024. Plus, measure ballots and school boards

At this juncture, votes from 65.44% of Shasta County’s 115,626 registered voters have been counted. Toller has said he predicts tallies will show that more than 75% of voters cast a ballot in the November 2024 election.

Here are results for some high-profile local races, according to results issued Tuesday evening at 5 p.m.

Redding, Shasta County election results released on Tuesday

District 3 supervisor race: Corkey Harmon still leads, with 55.09% over Mary Rickert, who has 44.91%.

Redding City Council race for the two-year seat: Erin Resner leads with 47.42% of the vote. Mark Mezzano has 43.93%. Anthony Spengler had 8.65%.

Redding council race for the four-year term with two seats up for election: Paul Dhanuka still has a significant lead over his opponents, with 39.62% of the vote. Mike Littau remains in second place with 20.05%. Joshua Johnson, who is temporarily filling a seat on the council, gained a bit of ground this week, but is still behind with 18.45%. Dave Backues has 11.65%, and Ian Hill has 10.22%.

Anderson City Council, with three seats up for election: The four candidates are closely splitting the vote. Darin Hale continues to lead with 27.78% of the vote. Susie Baugh has 25.44%, Bonnie Simmons has 23.98% and Stan Neutze had 22.80%.

Shasta Lake City Council, with three seats up for election and six candidates: Here’s how the vote breaks down so far: Daniel Ringwelski has 23.46%; Greg Watkins has 22.10%; Toni Coates has 16.34%; Janice Powell has 14.87%; Dolores Lucero has 12.83% and Tena Eisenbeisz has 10.39%.

Countywide, Measure P (eminent domain) was narrowly failing, with 50.40% of votes that said “No,’ while Measure Q (filling elected and department head positions in the county) continued to lose with 58.60% “No” votes.

Shasta County Board of Education Area 2, has two seats open for the four-year term. Here’s how the vote stands with the six candidates: Jackie LaBarbera continues to lead with 24.84% of the vote. Jessica French is second with 18.89%; maintaining her lead over Richard Gallardo, who has 17.93%. Don Aust has 14.46%; Amy Cavalleri has 14.06% and Dolores Lucero has 9.82%.

County board of education’s Area 2, with one position open for a two-year term: Teresa Roberts has 63.43% to Cindy Vogt’s 36.57%.

County board of education’s Area 1, with one seat up for a four-year term: Michael Orlicky has 52.52% of the vote and Michele Tyson has 47.48%.

Gateway Unified School District board of trustees, with one seat: Bobbie Simpson has 57.02% of the vote to Elias Haynes’ 42.98%.
