Jerry Gale to present ‘Understanding and Responding to Christian Nationalism’ Nov. 26

Nov. 21—BEMIDJI — Jerry Gale, founder of Christians Against Christian Nationalism Minnesota, will present “Understanding and Responding to Christian Nationalism,” at 11:45 a.m. on Tuesday, Nov. 26, at United Methodist Church, 924 Beltrami Ave NW.

“Christian nationalism seeks to merge Christian and American identities, damaging both the Christian faith and America’s democracy,” a release said. “It implies that to be a good American, one must be a Christian.”

Gale first became aware of Christian nationalism on Jan. 6, 2021, after seeing footage of Christian symbols being carried by those who broke into the U.S. Capitol. Shortly after, he discovered the website Christians Against Christian Nationalism.

In January 2024, Gale formed the Christians Against Christian Nationalism Minnesota group and is sharing his message throughout the state.

Gale is also a member of Hennepin Avenue United Methodist Church in Minneapolis.

Sponsors will provide a light lunch. A free-will offering will be accepted to defray meal costs and gas expenses for Gale, the release said.
