We are rivers, woods, mountains. Skyscrapers, sidewalks. Traffic. Solitude. A vibe. Cities, towns, villages, hamlets. Here, our photographers train their craft on what makes this place our place.

Check lohud.com each Friday to see where our photographer went for our newest lohud on location feature.

Rockefeller State Park Preserve, located in Mount Pleasant in Westchester County, features more than 1,700 acres with 50 miles of trails that are used for horseback riding, running, hiking, bird watching and fishing.

The preserve was donated to New York State over time beginning in 1983. Many of the carriage trails at the preserve were designed by John D. Rockefeller and his family. Rockwood Hall, a section of the preserve, abuts the Hudson River.

The preserve is maintained by The Friends of Rockefeller State Park Preserve and the New York State Office of Parks, Recreation & Historic Preservation. The main entrance to the preserve is located on Route 117 in Sleepy Hollow.
