The Washington Commanders had the mini-bye after Week 11’s Thursday Night Football loss to the Philadelphia Eagles, which, at least for the time being, ceded control of the NFC East to the Eagles. The Commanders will get the chance to take out any lingering frustrations from that loss on the Dallas Cowboys, who are limping into their Week 12 trip to Washington having lost five straight games. Their home woes are well documented, but the 3-7 Cowboys are actually 3-2 on the road and were at least competitive in road losses to the 49ers and Falcons — which can’t be said for any of their home games this season.
Also in the early Sunday window, the 9-1 Lions (at Colts) and 9-1 Chiefs (at Panthers) are favored to both make it to 10 wins this week. The last time two teams had reached double-digit wins this early was in 2019, when New England and San Francisco were both 10-1 after Week 12. The 49ers wound up in the Super Bowl that season, losing to the Chiefs, while the Patriots stumbled a bit down the stretch in Tom Brady’s final season with the club and lost in the wild-card round.
No shutouts today! Patriots finally get on the board

No one is having more fun in Week 12 than Baker Mayfield

Well this seems dumb, NFL
Having more cameras and using them for reviews seems like a good thing, right? What is the point of being the NFL if you’re not going to force all teams to install the same the same number of cameras? This feels very counterproductive.
I just learned the NFL doesn’t use all available cameras during reviews because not all stadiums have the same cameras. Some have more.
Giants fumble in red zone after converting first 3rd down of entire game
With the end zone in sight, Tyrone Tracy fumbled the ball just one play after converting the Giants’ first 3rd down of the game. The Buccaneers recovered, ending the Giants’ only scoring opportunity of the day thus far. Woof.
Colts stop Lions on 4th and 1 in red zone
So, Dallas ..
*Had one field goal get blocked, *Had another hit the right upright, *Lost one fumble, *Botched a snap, *Was called for holding on third-and-1, *Had a punt blocked and *Was intercepted (negated by WAS penalty) …
The #Panthers are bringing out the cart for Ja’Tavion Sanders, who appeared to land on his head after a low tackle out of bounds. There’s a backboard being used.
Cowboys-Commanders should be blacked out for good of the public
Between the Cowboys stinking up the joint and the Commanders forgetting how to play football, the NFL should consider pulling the cord on that game just to protect the general public from exposure.
It’s bad. Not just regular bad, either. It’s “we’re setting the game of football back 50 years” bad.
Commanders’ 5 possessions:
1 – starts Dallas 40. FG 2 – Wash 32. Missed FG 3 – Dal 47. Punt 4 – Wash 42. Punt 5 – Dal 39. Interception
Lead 3-0, but talk about squandering opportunities.
You can’t see the actual fumble happen, but you can see Baker Mayfield run in from offscreen to capture the football, which was rolling loose on the field.
Williams’ throw leads to Bears TD
And on the heels of that fearless throw from Caleb Williams, the Bears score a TD to take the lead.

A little context on Aaron Jones’ red zone fumble
It’s been a *while* since Aaron Jones has done what he just did for the Vikings.
Before today, per ESPN Research, Aaron Jones had lost only one red zone fumble in his career. (Week 3 of 2022 when with the Packers.) https://t.co/W8Mj7V2WCP
