Julian Assange’s brother argues Biden should pardon him to protect press freedom

With potential attacks on press freedom from the incoming Trump administration, the rights of journalists and whistleblowers are under threat. With that in mind, Republican Congressman Thomas Massie of Kentucky and Democratic Congressman James McGovern of Massachusetts have teamed up to urge President Biden to pardon Wikileak’s Founder Julian Assange, as they worry his plea deal sets a dangerous precedent for prosecuting journalists and whistleblowers with espionage offenses.
