BBC Strictly Come Dancing fans say couple ‘won’t win’ as four final couples revealed

Strictly Come Dancing fans have said which couple ‘won’t win’ the competitions as the four finalists for this year’s competition were confirmed.

The semi-final of the BBC One dance contest took place on Saturday night (December 7) with the five remaining couples performing two dances each in a bid to secure their place in the 2024 grand final.

In a sad blow, Pete Wicks and Jowita Przystal just missed out on making it through to the last week of Strictly’s 20th-anniversary series after they landed in the dreaded dance-off during the last results show of the series on Sunday night (December 8).

Reality star and podcast host Pete and dancer Jowita faced the dreaded dance-off for the first time against Love Island star Tasha Ghouri and her professional dance partner Aljaz Skorjanec, who landed under the red lights for a second week in a row.

Tasha and Aljaz opted to perform their waltz to (You Make Me Feel Like) A Natural Woman by Aretha Franklin in a bid to keep their place in the last week of the dance show, while Pete and Jowita reprised their Argentine tango to Bitter Sweet Symphony by The Verve for the same reason.

After their dances, judges Craig Revel Horwood, Motsi Mabuse and Anton Du Beke all chose to save Tasha and Aljaz, who had received a perfect score for their waltz during the latest live show. Head Judge Shirley Ballas also agreed and said she would have decided to save Tasha and Aljaz.

As they became the eleventh couple to leave Strictly’s 20th-anniversary series on Sunday night (December 8), it means Tasha and Aljaz, Sarah Hadland and Vito Coppola, JB Gill and Lauren Oakley and Chris McCausland and Dianne Buswell are this year’s finalists.

But as the results were revealed, some Strictly viewers were left worried for fan-favourite Tasha ahead of the final. @stacey_who said: “Tasha being in the dance off two weeks in a row esp after being top of the leaderboard shows she won’t be winning.” @jamie_pragnell commented: “Tasha won’t be winning the final though based on the public vote…”

The remaining four couples will take to the dancefloor next week for the final of Strictly 2024. The finalists will each perform three dances: their favourite dance of the series, the judge’s pick and a spectacular show dance. The Strictly Come Dancing Grand Final returns live on BBC One and iPlayer on Saturday, December 14, at 6pm.
