If you’ve not already bought a turkey then you’ll no doubt soon be heading out for your festive bird.
Turkeys generally spark a bit of a price war between supermarkets as they try to outdo each other in the hope of boosting their Christmas sales.
This year Aldi is getting in there first and declaring that it’s offering ‘the UK’s cheapest fresh whole British turkeys’ no less.
Not only that, but the budget retailer will be selling 15p packs of veg as part of its popular Christmas Super Six promotion and it includes its 2kg bags of white potatoes.

The turkeys will start from £5.90 (£2.95 per kg), with Aldi declaring it ‘will not be beaten on price’. Small ones (2-4.49kg) serve 6-11, medium ones (4.5-5.99kg) serve 11-14 and large ones 6-8kg, serves 15-18.
As well as the potatoes, the veg promotion includes 1kg bags of carrots, 500g bags of parsnips, red and white cabbages, 500g bags of Brussels sprouts, and broccoli.
Aldi’s fresh turkeys land in stores from December 19, with the Festive Super Six Promotion running between December 19 and 24, while stocks last. Aldi’s frozen turkeys are available in stores now.
It comes as the retailer is selling more festive items from its Specially Selected range than ever before.
We reported earlier this year how the growing popularity of the range – its premium own-label products – means that, this Christmas, it will make up more than 50% of its overall festive offering for the first time.
