Man arrested in connection with deadly shooting in Worcester

A man has been arrested in connection with a deadly shooting that took place in Worcester Friday night, police say.

Officers responding to a shooting on Grand Street around 10 p.m. found a man unresponsive in the street, Worcester police say. He was taken to a nearby hospital, where he was pronounced deceased. T

The victim’s name has not been released.

Givenchy Smith, 24, was placed under arrest and is facing an armed assault to murder charge.

Anyone with information about the incident is asked to contact Worcester police.

An investigation into the shooting is ongoing.
