Most St. Cloud restaurants closed Christmas, limited hours Christmas Eve

With Christmas around the corner, consumers are beginning to prep for the holiday meal, though an increasing number want to leave the cooking to someone else.

A survey from the Auguste Escoffier School of Culinary Arts found that this year, 57% of consumers said they plan to eat out at a restaurant for a holiday meal. They cited reasons like supporting local businesses, reducing the stress of preparing a large meal and freeing up more time to spend with loved ones.

For St. Cloud residents looking to make a similar choice, options will be limited, with most restaurants closed for the holiday, though some are offering takeout meals.

What St. Cloud-area restaurants are open on Christmas?

Customers looking for a quick bite will have limited options, as most popular chains will be closed Christmas Day. Wendy’s and McDonald’s will be open with hours varying by location, according to USA Today. IHOP and Red Lobster will also be open, and customers can make reservations.

Though they are closed Christmas Day, Taco Bell and Applebee’s will be open limited hours on Christmas Eve.

Most local spots will be closed Christmas Day, though several will be operating for limited hours on Christmas Eve, including Green Mill, Crooked Pint Ale House and HuHot Mongolian Grill, which will all close early at 3 p.m.

Lost Times Tavern will also operate with limited hours Christmas Eve, as will Copper Kitchen, which will close at 2 p.m.

Both of Blue Line Sports Bar & Grill’s locations will be open until 4 p.m. Christmas Eve, Granite City Food & Brewery will close at 6 p.m. and Boulder Tap House will close at 7 p.m. that day.

What St. Cloud restaurants are closed on Christmas?

Most local spots will be closed on Christmas, including Grizzly’s Wood-Fired Grill, Jimmy’s Pour House and Mavericks Steak & Cocktails, which are all closed both Christmas Eve and Day.

Old Brick House and MC’s Dugout Bar and Grill will also be closed both days, and most restaurants open Christmas Eve will be taking the next day off.

Chains including Chick-fil-A, Chipotle and Texas Roadhouse will also be closed on Christmas Day.
