While Oklahomans likely won’t see a white Christmas this year, we can dream about Christmases past that graced us with a blanket of snow.
Rudolph may not leave his footprints in the snow atop your roof this year, but let’s look back at times in the past he did.
When was the last time it snowed on Christmas in Oklahoma?
The last time Oklahoma City saw snowfall on Christmas Day was in 2012, when about 0.6 inches of snow fell that day. Although, technically, this didn’t count as a white Christmas. The technical definition is a year with at least one inch of snow on the ground on Christmas morning.

So our last white Christmas was just a few years prior, when in 2009 a whopping 14 inches of snow fell in OKC on Christmas Eve in a record-breaking blizzard. That snow remained for Christmas Day.
