Prosecutors say the 17-year-old also threatened an Oak Brook police officer and now faces an additional felony charge of threatening a public official. Both teens have been released on GPS monitoring.

Authorities say the group entered the Sephora around 6 p.m. Sunday and stole merchandise worth more than $300. During the theft, the juveniles allegedly struck a store employee. The 17-year-old reportedly threatened a police officer, saying, “I am going to get your a** killed, boy… I know your family. I know your brother. You better watch out.”

Prosecutors allege Ocampo and Villalobos directed one of the teens to steal the merchandise. Both women are also accused of targeting the same store on Dec. 20, taking additional items worth more than $300.

“These offenders came to the Oak Brook mall thinking it would be an easy target, and they found out differently,” said Oak Brook Chief of Police Brian Strockis. “While most families were out enjoying some last-minute holiday shopping, this group came here with Grinch-like intentions. They soon found out that we don’t tolerate criminal behavior in Oak Brook and we certainly don’t stand down when threatened by criminals.”

Ocampo and Villalobos are scheduled to appear in court on Jan. 21.

The juveniles are scheduled for a court appearance on Jan. 10.
