Thomasville man charged in Virginia with sex trafficking

THOMASVILLE — A Thomasville man has been arrested in connection with a reported sex trafficking operation in Lynchburg, Virginia, two law enforcement agencies said.

Thomas Lee Thomas II, 58, was charged with felony receiving money from the earnings of prostitutes, felony commercial sex trafficking, felony conspiracy to commit sex trafficking, felony keeping, residing in or visiting a bawdy place for immoral purposes, and felony receiving money for procuring or placing a person at a location for the purpose of sex trafficking.

Early this month, detectives with the Davidson County Sheriff’s Office were contacted by the Lynchburg Police Department about a sex trafficking investigation that began in June, naming Thomas as a suspect, the sheriff’s office said.

On Dec. 12, sheriff’s deputies executed a search warrant at Thomas’ residence.

On the same day, Lynchburg police and the Virginia State Police Human Trafficking Unit executed a search at an address in Lynchburg.

No information about what was found in the searches was released.

Thomas was taken into custody and is awaiting extradition to Virginia.
