Stocks Open Mixed to Begin Holiday-Shortened Week

Stocks were wavering to start the holiday-shortened week as Wall Street hoped for a Santa Claus rally to lift the market.

The Dow Jones Industrial Average was down 55 points, or 0.1%. The S&P 500 was up 0.2%. The Nasdaq Composite was up 0.5%.

The yield on the 2-year Treasury note was up to 4.332%. The 10-year yield was up to 4.551%.
