A 62-year-old woman from Eustis is dead after a fatal crash involving a wrong-way driver on Orange Blossom Trail on the evening of Christmas Eve, the Florida Highway Patrol said.
A 39-year-old man from Orlando, who was driving a 2008 Kia Optima, was traveling northbound in the southbound lanes on OBT and north of Wadswoth Road, FHP said. The woman, who was driving a 2018 Audi Q3, was traveling southbound in the outside lane on OBT and north of Wadswoth Road.
The man was traveling the wrong way, FHP said. As a result, the front of the Kia Optima collided into the front of the Audi Q3.
The man was transported to Orlando Regional Medical Center with serious injuries, FHP said. The woman was pronounced dead on scene.
This cash remains under investigation.
