22 Kids and Counting’s Millie Radford says three children is ‘enough’ but her husband disagrees

Watch: Millie Radford’s new husband won’t rule out 22 kids

The Radfords could be looking at a whole new generation of supersized families as son-in-law Harley Passmore has refused to rule out a large number of children with new wife Millie Radford.

Millie and Harley, whose wedding is documented in new series 22 Kids and a Wedding, were unable to agree on whether they wanted double figures of children too as Millie insisted: “I will never have more than three.”

They appeared with Millie’s parents Sue and Noel Radford, some of her brothers and sisters, their own three children and their nephew on Thursday’s This Morning where the 22 Kids and Counting stars gave an insight into what their lives were like.

Stars of 22 Kids and Counting Millie Radford and her new husband Harley told This Morning they couldn't agree on whether to have a large family themselves.

Millie Radford’s new husband Harley Passmore might have had a shock marrying into a family with 22 children, but the Radfords’ chaos doesn’t seem to have put him off the idea of a large family.

He and Millie feature in a new documentary, 22 Kids and a Wedding, and while his bride has said she is set on sticking at the three children they have, Harley wasn’t so sure.

As 18 members of the Radford family from three generations joined Thursday’s This Morning, hosts Ben Shephard and Cat Deeley asked Millie whether she wanted to emulate her parents’ large family.

Millie, who is mum to Ophelia, Chester and Elodie, said: “Every time it’s crazy in our house, we always say to each other why did my mum ever have more than three. I will never have more than three, that’s just enough. With two you’ve got (one in each hand) but with three, you really don’t have that spare hand.”

But Harley disagreed, saying: “In the future maybe, yeah – not right now. When all the kids are in nursery, Elodie starts next year, gives us a bit of our time as well.”

Shephard asked Harley: “Is it quite overwhelming being greeted by the Radfords? What’s it like being the son-in-law?”

He shared: “To be honest, it’s not even that bad. Very loving people, very nice, very welcoming. A lot quieter than I expected. My house is more crazy, we’ve got three.”

But one Radford who isn’t planning on any more kids is mum Sue, who said: “No, definitely not, no.”

Mum Sue said: “It was amazing, I think there were 30 of us in total. It was bedlam. Christmas is such a magical time in our house.”

Dad Noel added that the Christmas Day menu had included “two turkeys, a gammon and a piece of beef”.

Sue is getting set to celebrate her 50th birthday this year and the Radfords are planning a family holiday which is expected to include 35 people.

She said of their previous family trips: “The funny part is when you go to check in and you hand all the passports over. Their face is an absolute picture.”

This Morning airs on ITV1 at 10am on weekdays.
