STUART − A water main break on Southwest Federal Highway Friday evening forced some closures of southbound lanes, a Stuart police spokesperson said.
Lt. Brian Bossio said police were dispatched to the intersection of Southwest Federal Highway and Southwest Ocean Boulevard, where water covered the road. He said police helped control traffic by restricting lanes at the intersection to two.
Bossio said city workers were at the site fixing the break.

He said Southwest Federal Highway is backed up because of the lane closures and it is unknown when the issue will be resolved.
Southwest Ocean Boulevard is closed to Southwest Albany Avenue and drivers should expect delays if driving in the area or seek an alternative route if possible.
