WASHINGTONIt is cold enough for snow, and we’ve got more on the way, says FOX 5’s Tucker Barnes, as all eyes shift to a winter weather system that is threatening the Washington, D.C. region this weekend.

Barnes says expect clouds Friday afternoon and evening before the snow starts close to midnight. Barnes says the snow will come down fast, but will quickly come to an end on Saturday morning. It won’t amount to a lot, he says, and is expected to wrap up by sunrise.

More in U.S.

It will be cold enough for any snow that falls to stick. The National Weather Service says roads, and especially bridges and overpasses, will likely become slick and hazardous.

Be prepared for slippery roads and slow down and use caution while traveling, the NWS says. If you are going outside, watch your first few steps taken on stairs, sidewalks, and driveways. These surfaces could be icy and slippery, increasing your risk of falling and injury.
