Jan. 24—BEMIDJI — Couples hoping for a Valentine’s Day wedding will get some help from the Minnesota Judicial Branch as judges throughout the state will offer free marriages on Friday, Feb. 14.
Beltrami County will join 10 other district courts in offering the free Valentine’s Day weddings.
Appointments are required as the courthouses have limited ceremony times — no walk-ins will will be accepted. Additionally, the couple will need a valid marriage license in the county they plan to be married in before the wedding can be performed.

The couple does not need to reside in the county the wedding will be performed in, however.
