With a total of 2,800, Georgia has a drunk driving accident rate of 26.1 per 100,000 residents, making it one of the worst states in the U.S. for these accidents, according to 2024 reports.
Geoffrey G. Nathan Law Offices has determined the states with the highest and lowest drunk driving accident rates by assessing the population, number of accidents, and accident rates per 100,000.
The data was collected by using reports from National Highway Traffic Safety Administration (NHTSA), state transportation departments, and law enforcement agencies.

According to the report, Georgia’s biggest factors for drunk driving accidents were its “rapid urbanization and high traffic congestion contribute to its drunk driving accident rate.”
