Aston Villa look to arrest their winless run in the Premier League tomorrow as they welcome Chelsea to Villa Park.

Unai Emery’s outfit comes into the weekend clash after a credible 2-2 draw against table-topping Liverpool. But after four draws and one loss in their last five league fixtures, the Champions League contestants sit ninth and four points off a UCL return next season.

Speaking during his pre-match press conference, Emery was in an upbeat mood after learning the round of sixteen draw against Club Brugge. “Really happy, because we are going to enjoy this moment with our supporters, and we are going to compete when it’s arriving, but now we have to focus (on) Chelsea.”

When discussing Enzo Maresca’s Blues, a side who Villa suffered a 3-0 defeat against at Stamford Bridge earlier this season, Emery stated “Of course, two years ago, last year, the first match we played this season against Chelsea was a different moment. Now, hopefully, we can feel stronger.”

No further injury updates were provided across the senior side, with Villa enjoying the compliment of players they were able to call upon at Anfield.
