Tick, tock. Tick, tock.

The clock is running out on the Detroit Red Wings to make a move. While March 7th is still 12 days away, Red Wings fans are getting restless.

We all know the deal with how Steve Yzerman does things. We know we will find out about a deal right once everyone else does. The Red Wings GM knows how to keep everyone tight-lipped.

Several insiders have connected the same players to the Red Wings. The Fourth Period has released an updated trade board. Here are three players linked to the Red Wings.

Dylan Cozens is a 23-year-old center in the second year of a seven-year contract, paying him $7.1 million a year. He’s been connected to the Red Wings for a while now. He’s having a bit of a down year, with 27 points in 55 games played. However, he’s seeing the ice a lot.

The Buffalo Sabres center is averaging 17:20 of ice time per game. He could fit with the Red Wings like a glove. It’s no secret that they need another center. They also need someone who can win draws, and Cozens is sitting at a 50.5 faceoff win percentage for the season.

The Hockey News – Would the Red Wings Ever Seriously Consider Trading Larkin? In

a recent column in the Detroit Free Press, Carlos Monarrez offered an opinion that drew immediate ire from the entirety of the Red Wings fan base.  In brief, Monarrez argued that should Detroit should trade Dylan Larkin should the Red Wings

Elias Pettersson is connected to seven teams, with the Red Wings being one of the seven. He’s only in the first year of a new deal paying him $11.6 million.

Things aren’t coming easily for Pettersson this season, as tensions between him and J.T. Miller caused a rift in the locker room. It reached the point where Miller was traded to the New York Rangers. There’s still a chance that the Vancouver Canucks want to offer Pettersson a new start elsewhere so that everyone has a clean slate.

Things haven’t been going Trevor Zegras‘ way for a while. Last season, he was limited to 31 games, and he’s only played 33 games so far this season. He’s sitting at 16 points and averages 16:56 per game.

Perhaps Saturday’s game is a sign of where things are going for the Anaheim Ducks superstar. He scored a goal, fired five shots on net, and played 19:08 — which is the most he’s played in a game since December 1st.

Either way, the Red Wings are associated with some high-profile names on three different teams. We will see if the clock runs out before any of them become Red Wings.
