The Buffalo Sabres center is averaging 17:20 of ice time per game. He could fit with the Red Wings like a glove. It’s no secret that they need another center. They also need someone who can win draws, and Cozens is sitting at a 50.5 faceoff win percentage for the season.

Elias Pettersson is connected to seven teams, with the Red Wings being one of the seven. He’s only in the first year of a new deal paying him $11.6 million.
Things aren’t coming easily for Pettersson this season, as tensions between him and J.T. Miller caused a rift in the locker room. It reached the point where Miller was traded to the New York Rangers. Either way, the Red Wings are associated with some high-profile names on three different teams. We will see if the clock runs out before any of them become Red Wings.
