Good Morning Britain viewers threatened to “switch off” on Thursday (February 27) as they issued the same complaint over a “bonkers” segment.
During today’s episode of the ITV news programme, Kate Garraway and Richard Madeley brought the latest headlines to viewers.
Richard Arnold hosted the entertainment segment, where he revealed that he had would be interviewing a “special guest” who had exclusive news to share.
He then began speaking to Peppa Pig matriarch Mummy Pig, who appeared live from Peppatown, where she announced that she was pregnant. Peppa also made a cameo appearance during the conversation.

“I’d like to welcome in her first ever interview someone we’re all very excited to meet. It’s Mummy Pig!” Richard began.

“Gosh, hello, thank you for having me. I’ve never been on telly before,” Mummy Pig said.
“We’ve been abuzz in the studio all morning because we hear you have an exciting announcement,” Richard continued, before Mummy Pig shared: “That’s right, I do! So, I’m very excited to tell you all that I…”
Before Mummy Pig could finish her sentence, she was interrupted by Peppa, who was “so excited” to see her mum on TV.
Peppa swiftly left the room, before Mummy Pig announced: “Well, I’m excited to share that our family is getting even bigger because we’re having another baby! I’m due in the summer and we’re all so excited.”

Mummy Pig said that she was “thrilled” with the news but also felt a “little overwhelmed” at the thought of having three children under the age of five.
“We weren’t able to keep it a secret for long. Peppa knew something was going on, she’s such a curious thing. We had to tell her before she popped. We’ve had the occasional wobble and worry, but they’re mostly so excited. Everyday they ask me how big the baby is, when is it coming, does it like dinosaurs or muddy puddles – it never stops!” she added.
Wrapping up the chat, Richard concluded: “Aw congratulations once again from all of us at Good Morning Britain, we’re so excited to meet the new little baby pig and see how Peppa and George get along.”
Fans were not impressed with the pre-planned interview, with many taking to X (formerly Twitter) to share their confusion and frustration.

“Turning off… this programme is becoming a joke,” one person wrote, while another added: “Wtf is the point of this cringeworthy Peppa pig interview?”
“Am I tripping? Why are they interviewing Peppa Pig?” a third person said, with a fourth sharing: “This segment is bonkers.”
Another viewer echoed the sentiment: “Did I really just see Mummy Pig get interviewed about her pregnancy on #GMB or have I really lost it?”
Good Morning Britain airs weekdays on ITV1 and ITVX at 6am
