Former Metropolitan of the Malabar Diocese of the Jacobite Syrian Church Zacharias Mar Polycarpose Zacharias passed away at St. Mary’s Hospital, Manarkad at 9.30 am in Kerala at age 52 following a heart attack. About Kottayam St. Mary’s Puthenpalli is a parishioner and about is a member of the Kochillam family.
The mourning procession to St. Mary’s Church will begin after the evening prayer. The funeral service will be held on Wednesday at 3 pm under the patronage of His Holiness Basilios Thomas I, Catholicos Bava.
He was born in India in July 1970.
