A terrified mum had to jump out of her bedroom window while clutching her three-month-old baby boy in her arms after armed men burst into her home in the early hours of the morning.
She had been sleeping upstairs with the newborn and her husband at around 3.30am when the family were suddenly woken to the sound of the kitchen window being smashed downstairs.
Within a matter of seconds, the three thugs had gained entry. It’s claimed the dad was forced to hold the bedroom door shut as one of the burglars tried to break it down, kicking it and piercing a huge machete through the wood.

The new mum, who was recovering from a c-section after giving birth just three months ago, says she was left with no option but to leap out of the upstairs window of their Dukinfield home, with her newborn in her arms, before landing on shards of glass outside.
Her husband also jumped, before they ran into a neighbours, bleeding and injured, and called the emergency services to the scene on Barlow Road, on the morning of August 23.
The pair were both left injured and needing surgery, with their baby thankfully only suffering minor cuts and bruises.
Speaking to the Manchester Evening News, the mum described the horror ordeal as a ‘blur’, but that all she could think about was saving her little boy.
“We heard the sound of our kitchen window being broken into and before we could even react, the sounds of footsteps running upstairs,” she said.
“My husband put the baby down on the bed and ran to hold our bedroom door shut. I grabbed the baby and watched him use all his strength to keep the door closed as the man on the other side kept trying to kick it down and get in.
“I looked outside and saw two people wearing black in our garden. I started screaming that I had a baby and screaming for police and for help, when they heard me scream they ran away.
“In that moment everything was a blur. Calling the police was a blur, the screams for help were a blur.
“The other person by our bedroom door was trying to kick the door down, shouting racist remarks and saying he wanted to get in and take everything we had.
“My husband kept screaming back to him, telling him to take anything else in the house but to not to come into our room because there was a baby. The next thing, he saw a machete pierce our bedroom door. In that moment, he made the hardest decision of his life.
“He told me to stand by the window with our baby and jump. So I did, with him in my arms. Straight after, my husband let go of the door, ran to the window and jumped.
“We ran to a neighbour’s house screaming for help. There was blood everywhere. In that moment we didn’t know it but I had fractured my pelvis and my husband had deep lacerations and cuts to his legs. He had to be rushed to theatre.”
The distraught mum, who says she has been left ‘traumatised’ by the horror home invasion said she has suffered fractures to her pelvis and deep lacerations to her thigh which had to be stitched. She also fractured her elbow in the fall which has been operated on.
She is currently struggling to even walk, and is going through physiotherapy.
And shocking pictures showed how her partner was left with a huge gash in his leg after leaping from the bedroom window and being cut by smashed glass from the kitchen window on the ground below.
Despite the break in, the family say that valuables such as wallets, mobile phones and games consoles were left in the bedroom as the suspects fled, and that nothing valuable was taken.
They claim the police have told them they can go back home once discharged from hospital, but they have been left too fearful to return, with three suspects currently released on bail.
“In that moment, honestly, it was a matter of survival,” the mum said. “My husband told me to jump when he saw the knife.
“Jumping was not an easy decision, but we thought what could’ve happened to us could be worse. I jumped out of fear, nothing was going to happen to my baby.
“We are scared. We don’t ever want to go back to the house. We don’t know what to do or where to go. We have been having nightmares in hospital. Like, if I hear the sound of the trolley, it’s like they’re coming back.
“We are beyond lost for words as to why us. If they were there to rob the house, why was nothing taken?”
