Police have made an arrest in the June shooting death of a 15-year-old in Columbus.
Emauri Pippens, 18, was arrested in connection with the June 17 shooting death of Michael Scott, according to a news release from the Columbus Police Department.
Police said the shooting occurred around 6 p.m. at Elizabeth Canty Homes, according to Ledger-Enquirer reporting.
Scott was pronounced dead at 6:56 p.m. at a local hospital, according to Muscogee County Coroner Buddy Bryan.
Police said arrest warrants were issued for Pippens on charges of involuntary manslaughter and reckless conduct.
Pippens is scheduled to appear in Recorder’s Court at 9 a.m. on Wednesday.
