According to an affidavit, at 10:08 a.m. Monday, Longmont police were called to the Stonebridge at Twin Peaks apartment complex at 2424 Ninth Ave. on a report of criminal mischief. A woman who worked in the office called dispatch when she arrived at work at 10 a.m. Monday morning and found bullet holes in the walls of the office and damage to the interior of the office as well. Other staff members reportedly found shells outside the door.
Police found a spent shell casing and unspent shotgun shell in the parking lot, according to the affidavit.
A detective on scene drafted a search warrant for apartment 6105 on the property which was occupied by Larson. After being approved at 4:17 p.m. Tuesday, Longmont SWAT began ordering Larson out of his apartment. He initially refused, leading SWAT to voice multiple intercom announcements from their tactical vehicle before they sprayed a “less lethal chemical munition,” such as tear gas or pepper spray, into his apartment.
According to the affidavit, the SWAT team then called Larson on his cell phone and once in contact, he agreed to exit. The stand off lasted for approximately 15 minutes.

According to the affidavit, law enforcement were familiar with Larson and had responded to previous calls to the apartment due to him. On Nov. 14, Larson reportedly entered the apartment complex office with an AR style rifle slung on his back with the barrel pointed down and a large knife and sheath on his left hip. Larson reportedly entered the office and looked at one of the staff members. The staff member told police that Larson appeared angry but didn’t say anything to the employee before leaving.
The “contentious interactions” between Larson and staff members previously resulted in management hiring armed security for the office and one employee obtaining a temporary protection order against Larson, according to the affidavit.
