All the executive orders Trump signed on Day 1 of his second administration

President Donald Trump signed nearly 50 executive actions on his first day back in office, launching his second presidency on aggressive footing as he seeks to fulfill key campaign promises.

Of those executive actions, which include proclamations and presidential memoranda, at least 26 were executive orders, some of which focused on cracking down on immigration, gutting energy and climate policies, and curbing trans rights.

By comparison, Trump signed 14 executive actions in his first week in office in 2017 — setting a new record at that time — and former President Joe Biden signed 15 executive actions on his first day in 2021.

Trump had vowed during the election to implement major policies on his first day back in the White House, saying that he would not be a dictator “except for Day 1” of his presidency.

Many of the executive orders he signed won’t immediately go into effect and there will likely be legal challenges from civil rights organizations and Democratic groups in the coming weeks. Several lawsuits have indeed already been filed.

Below are all the executive orders Trump signed on Monday. Click here to see the complete list of his Day 1 executive actions.

We’ve come a long way since Trump told voters he wants to “do away with executive orders.”
