Eight people were injured at a CarMax store on Saturday when a man drove his Subaru Outback through the dealership after the driver became upset with an offer for his car, according to a report by Fox 11 Los Angeles.

The incident occurred at the CarMax dealership in Inglewood, California at approximately 2 p.m. on March 8. The Subaru had reportedly just been appraised, and the owner was not happy with the number he was being offered. According to the Los Angeles County Fire Department, two people were critically injured and six others sustained minor injuries.

A portion of the incident was captured on a video which has been shared on TikTok. The police said they're using the video as part of their investigation.

Mitchell Marshall witnessed the scene from outside the store. “I seen him arguing, I wasn't paying attention, so then he backed up, came this way, then backed up, made a big u-turn, and rammed it not once, but twice,” Marshall told Fox 11.

A report by NBC Los Angeles identifies the driver as 25-year-old Andrew Arroyo; Arroyo reportedly fled the scene but quickly turned himself in at the nearby LAPD Academy. He was reportedly on probation at the time of the incident for a “wet reckless” charge in 2024.

CarMax confirmed that two of the injured people were CarMax employees. They also issued a statement on the incident. “This afternoon, a customer drove through our Inglewood, California store, hitting and injuring several employees and customers who are receiving medical care at this time. This individual was a customer and was arrested by the police. We appreciate the authorities’ response to this terrible event." the company said.
