Appleton could get 2 inches of snow beginning Saturday night, weather service says

At least two inches of snow is expected to accumulate this weekend in the Appleton area, according to the National Weather Service Green Bay.

Widespread snow is expected to begin right before midnight on Saturday, going until 6 p.m. Sunday. Appleton has a 75% chance of getting two inches or more, as well a 5% chance of getting four inches or more during that time frame. Flurries are also expected on Friday before midnight.

How will the snow impact commutes this weekend?

Roads are expected to be slippery due to the snow. Visibility will not be an issue, according to Kira Jesse, meteorologist for the National Weather Service Green Bay, as there will not be strong winds during the snowfall.

With temperatures falling below 20 starting Monday, including a low of 0 expected for theday, you can expect the snow to stick on the ground throughout next week.

What is the temperature forecast?

Weather will be relatively warmer between Saturday and Sunday while it’s snowing and temperatures will drop on Monday. Here is the National Weather Service forecast:

  • Friday night: Low of 15.

  • Saturday: High of 26, low of 21.

  • Sunday: High of 31, low of 10.

  • Monday: High of 11, low of 0
