Dianne Buswell responded to a comment about how she and Chris McCausland ended their latest Strictly Come Dancing routine as they both movingly reflected on making it through to week four of the competition.
The pair once again captured the hearts of viewers on Saturday night (October 5) as they scored 30 with their Wayneâs World-inspired jive in the BBC One dance contest’s annual Movie Week.
Comedian Chris and dancer Dianne appeared as the filmâs main characters, with judge Craig Revel-Horwood describing their performance as “packed full of fantastic rhythm”. He said: “Strong at kickball changes, theyâre a little bit heavy for my liking, but it was full, packed full of fantastic rhythm.”
Then, during Sunday night’s (October 6) results show, Chris, who is Strictly’s first blind contestant, and Dianne were confirmed to have made it through to the next week of Strictly 2024 where it was revealed they’ll be performing a Salsa to Men At Work’s ‘Down Under’.
Following the news they’d made it through to week four, Dianne shared a picture of the pair performing their latest routine and a selfie of them as Wayne World’s lead characters.
She wrote alongside the post on Instagram: “Mind blown yet again by this incredible man @chrismccauslandcomedy thank you for trusting me with every step we take! Even though sometimes what Iâm asking you to do must sound so bonkers half / all of the time. Thank you all so much for your votes and your kind words we see them and they really do help us push along.”
She added: “Week 4 letâs have ya. Lastly, @mr_njonesofficial @toyahofficial we send so much love and will miss you guys on the dance floor!”
Dianne also shared a brilliant clip of her and Chris’s performance which she compared to that from the film in which they could be seen in a car. Alongside a side-by-side of the two moments, the dancer joked: “Chris driving Craig [Revel Horwood[ home after the show,” after her celebrity partner’s previous quip at the show judge.
Captioning the post, Dianne wrote: “Rock and roll @chrismccauslandcomedy @craigrevel.” But when one of her followers remarked: “Wrong person driving,” to which the Australian star replied: “We were aware ! We did this on purpose.”
Meanwhile, Chris was quick to respond to Dianne’s first post as he acknowledged his dance partner’s efforts and the support they’ve received.
He said:” Dianne’s choreography and ability to teach me has been phenomenal. She is really really excited about this next song though, so I can’t wait to see what she has in store, we start tomorrow! And the same goes from me, thank you so much everybody! Believe me, I am surprising myself here as much as anybody else.
“Your support and votes mean so much to us, as I’m really loving doing this with Super Dianne and would like it to continue. Lots of love and thanks to you all!”
