Karen Hauer stunned fans by making an announcement about her dancing career away from the Strictly Come Dancing ballroom. The professional dancer is much missed from the competition, having been eliminated earlier in the 2024 series.
Fans were gutted to see Karen out of the BBC One dance contest last month alongside her celebrity dance partner Paul Merson. Karen and the former footballer made it through to week five where they only got 19 points from the judges for their samba to Car Wash by R&B group Rose Royce.
Of her partner, Karen said on the show at the time of their exit to host Tess Daly: “You’ve been a joy. I’ve never giggled this much. My abs are really tight now. I am so proud of you. Every week you have shown up, you have improved. You’re what Strictly is about and I want to thank you for bringing such joy and just showing everyone that it is possible with a little bit of work and lots of giggles.”

Since her exit, Karen has been seen back in the ballroom as she joins her fellow Strictly stars each Saturday night in the ‘Claudatorium’ alongside co-host Claudia Winkleman where she talks to the remaining couples after each performance.
But Karen has been winning praise all on her on as she revealed she was involved in the filming for the upcoming Wicked movie starring Ariana Grande and Cynthia Erivo.
Taking to Instagram on Monday (November 18) ahead of the film’s London premiere ahead of the film’s release this Friday (November 22), Karen shared a string of pictures taken behind-the-scenes during her time on the incredible set and said: “Had a ‘Wicked’ experience doing a tiny bit of dancing in this magnificent movie.
“@jasongilkison and I had an absolute blast!! Thanks to @chrislxd for letting us have a little go. We were like two toddlers in a candy shop [crying laughing emoji]. Canât wait to watch the movie tonight!”
And her friends and fans wasted no time in responding to the update. BBC Radio 2 star Zoe Ball said: “oh my goodness Just seen it. POPULAAAR.” Former Strictly winner Ore Oduba commented: “Oh wow!!! I love this!! On BOTH of ya @jasongilkison.”
