Pete Wicks has admitted he is “petrified” of Strictly Come Dancing as he was dealt a blow ahead of his next live performance. The reality star and podcast host will take part in week ten of the BBC One dance contest on Saturday night (November 23) with professional dance partner Jowita Przystal.
The pair were visbily shocked to make it through to another week in Strictly’s 20th-anniversary series following their eye-popping performance during last weekend’s Blackpool spcial.
Now, former TOWIE star Pete has admitted he has never been as nervous about anything in his life as he is about competing on the BBC dance show as it is “so far out of my comfort zone.” He said: “I don’t get nervous, but I’m petrified of this. This is the most nervous I’ve ever been about doing anything. Genuinely. This is so far out of my comfort zone.”

However, Pete is grateful to his professional dance partner Jowita Przystal for helping him to cope. He said: “She’s incredibly patient and always positive. She’s always keeping me on track.”
And, Jowita is proud of all that Pete has achieved. She said: “He never gives up, even when it’s tough Pete’s a hard worker, but he’s also really funny. We have a lot of laughs! Pete’s taught me to go with the flow and not take things too seriously.”
While Pete admitted he is “just trying to survive every week”, he admitted the show has had a positive impact on him. He said: “It’s brought out patience for sure. Jowita told me to focus on the moment and not overthink it.”
But his time in the rest of the competition may be limited.Leading bookmaker Coral makes Pete Wicks the odds-on favourite, at 4-6, to leave Strictly Come Dancing this weekend. Montell Douglas is 3-1 to depart, while JB Gill is 4-1 to go.
He is the favourite with BetMGM to be the next celebrity voted off Strictly Come Dancing. The reality star and podcast host heads the betting at 3/4 to be the ninth contestant to exit the dancing show, with Montell at 5/2 and JB at 3/1 next in the market. With Sarah (80/1), Tasha (80/1) and Chris (100/1) seemingly safe from elimination, Jamie at 5/1 looks like the only other contestant in danger.
UK Director at BetMGM, Sam Behar, said: “By his own admission, Pete Wicks was very lucky to survive in Strictly last week and we make the TOWIE star the favourite to leave this time. He is odds-on at 3/4, but it’s a tight betting heat with Montell Douglas (5/2), JB Gill (3/1) and Jamie Borthwick (5/1) all short enough in the market to be considered contenders for the exit door.”
