BMW smashes into a bus stop and wall after being ‘forced off the road’ by van driver

A BMW was smashed into a bus stop and a wall after being ‘forced off the road’ by a van driver in Bolton last Monday (August 26).

The car also hit two pedestrian islands and damaged six other vehicles in the major collision on Blackburn Road. Emergency services were called to the scene in Egerton at around 11.10pm.

Police enquiries have so far suggested the driver had been forced off the road by a white van, possibly a Vauxhall Vivaro, which failed to stop at the scene.

Greater Manchester Police are continuing to investigate the incident and urging witnesses to come forward. The driver of the BMW was not seriously injured.

The force’s Bolton Response team are now appealing for information to trace the white van. They would like to speak to anyone who may have relevant information or footage – including mobile, CCTV or dashcam.

Anyone with information should call 101 quoting log 3422 of 26/08/24.
