Both occupants walk away from airplane crash in Zeeland Township

ZEELAND TWP.— A airplane crashed at Ottawa Executive Airport, 5923 Byron Road, just before 9 a.m. Tuesday, April 8.

The single-engine plane, a Cessna 180, was found upside-down just off the shoulder of the runway. Both occupants of the plane were able to exit on their own and declined medical treatment

Initial investigation by Ottawa County Sheriff’s Office found the plane experienced a landing problem, which caused it to over-turn.

The incident remains under investigation and will be turned over to the Federal Aviation Administration.
