Most shoppers come back from Aldi with at least one thing they never intended to buy, usually something from the middle aisle.
But one man came home with a rather ‘genius’ plan that households across the country have been copying.
Having been asked to pick up some washing up liquid by his girlfriend, he discovered that, like most supermarkets, Aldi stocks various colours of the stuff.
It was then he came up with the idea that meant they’d never run out of the dishwashing product again.

He invented the ‘traffic light system’ so they could use them in order and then, once they got to red, they’d know they were on their last bottle.
Sharing details on the We Are Dull Women’s Facebook page, the woman said: “I asked my boyfriend to go to Aldi for washing up liquid. He comes back and now we have a traffic light system, when we are in red we need to restock.”
More than 37,000 people have responded to the post, which has attracted almost 4,000 comments, many of them praising the boyfriend for coming up with the idea.
“We’re laughing, but damn, that’s genius!!” said one woman, while another said: “Show us you’re a genius without saying you’re a GENIUS!!! Love this move.”
Even Aldi has got involved by responding: “Future hubby!! He’s a keeper, as long as he’s the one washing up of course!”
And others continued the praise.
“Love this! So doing it myself next time. Aldi washing up is the best!” said one.
“This has got to be the coolest thing I’ve ever seen,” said another.
