Buckingham Palace has shared an update on King Charles III’s health amid his ongoing cancer treatment.
A source told NBC News that the monarch’s treatment for the disease is “moving in a positive direction,” and remains in a “managed condition.” However, they did note that the treatment is not yet over, and “will continue into next year.”
This news comes 10 months after Buckingham Palace announced the King’s cancer diagnosis in February. At the time, they also shared that he would be beginning a course of treatment.
The statement explained that the King wanted to share his health news “in the hope it may assist public understanding for all those around the world who are affected by cancer.”
However, despite the 76-year-old being open about his health, he has not confirmed what type of cancer he is being treated for. Nor has the Palace revealed the specific type of treatment he is receiving. But, it is understood that he has been attending regular private appointments in London.

In September, Queen Camilla also briefly updated the public on her husband’s health. During a visit to the Dyson Cancer Center at the Royal United Hospital in Bath, she shared that the King was “doing very well.”
King Charles isn’t the only member of the Royal Family to have experienced health issues this year. His daughter-in-law, Kate Middleton also revealed that she had been diagnosed with cancer in March after undergoing major abdominal surgery in January.
Thankfully, the Princess of Wales is now on the mend, having shared a wholesome Instagram video back in September announcing that she was cancer-free.
