From classics to more adventurous takes, there are so many varieties of sandwich to enjoy in Columbia. National Sandwich Day arrives Sunday, Nov. 3, and while we can’t settle certain questions — is a hot dog a sandwich, for one — we can make plenty of recommendations.

Of course, a single article can’t include every great sandwich in a city; but here’s a look at just a few of the many tantalizing options around town. Where possible, prices have been included. As always, check with each restaurant on current pricing and availability.
