It was another big year for Cincinnati’s TV news world.
Veteran anchors and reporters left their stations, and new faces appeared on Cincinnatians’ television screens.
Here’s a look at the journalists who came and went in 2024, plus other major events.
TV anchors and reporters who joined, returned or were promoted at Cincinnati TV stations in 2024

Megan Mitchell, a News 5 (WLWT-TV) anchor and reporter, returned to WLWT in January.

Sam Harasimowicz joined WCPO as a multimedia journalist in July.

Marlena Lang started as a multimedia journalist and reporter for WCPO in July.

Jay Shakur joined the WCPO news team as a multimedia journalist in August.

De’Jah Gross joined the WCPO news team as a multimedia journalist in September.

Sydney Hawkins joined WKRC as a “Good Morning Cincinnati” weekend anchor and reporter in July.

WLWT anchor Courtis Fuller stepped down from his weekend anchor role.
WKRC anchor John Lomax died at 72
Longtime WKRC anchor and reporter John Lomax died in March after suffering complications from pneumonia. He was 72.
Lomax worked at the station for 39 years and co-anchored “Good Morning Cincinnati” for 32 years, before retiring in 2022.
WLW-AM radio host Jim Scott died at 81
Cincinnati radio legend Jim Scott died in June of amyotrophic lateral sclerosis (ALS) at the age of 81. Scott, a former WLW-AM (700) morning radio host, retired in 2015 after a 55-year career on the airwaves.

Ohio talk show legend Phil Donahue died at age 88
TV icon Phil Donahue died “peacefully following a long illness,” in August. Donahue, a Cleveland native, was often referred to as a pioneer and the king of daytime talk shows with a media career that spanned decades.
“The Phil Donahue Show” started as a local program in Dayton in 1967 before becoming nationally syndicated in 1969.
Former Cincinnati Enquirer journalist Pat Crowley died at age 63
Former journalist and public relations executive Pat Crowley died unexpectedly Dec. 28 at his home in Fort Thomas at age 63. The cause of death was not immediately known.
Crowley began his career as a reporter at small community newspapers in Indiana and Kentucky before joining The Cincinnati Post and, later, The Enquirer. He left journalism 15 years ago to start Strategic Advisers, a public relations and marketing firm.
Former Cincinnati Enquirer editor Nancy Daly died at 70
Nancy Daly, a former Enquirer editor and reporter, died in October after complications from hip surgery. She was 70.

Daly joined the Community Press Newspapers in 1990 and served as managing editor of the West Side suburban newspapers for a decade. During her tenure, she launched a publication for seniors.
Daly also managed suburban newspapers on the East Side and was senior editor of the Community Recorder office in Kentucky.
Daly eventually continued her career with Gannett after The Enquirer bought the suburban papers. She served as a content strategist and assistant breaking news and communities editor before she retired in 2019.
WCPO reporter and photographer Jay Warren died at 54
Longtime WCPO reporter and photographer Jay Warren died following a battle with cancer, the TV station announced in June. He was 54 years old.

Warren joined WCPO after moving to Cincinnati in 2004. Throughout his career, he covered several major news stories, such as the search and arrest of George and Jennifer Hyatte, and was nominated for an Emmy.
