Coronation Street teases tense hospital scenes for Lauren Bolton

Coronation Street spoilers follow.

Coronation Street will air tense hospital scenes for Lauren Bolton in Wednesday’s (July 17) episode.

A first look at the next Corrie instalment reveals Bethany Platt and Dee-Dee Bailey will be looking for Lauren, while the evil Joel Deering plots his next move to keep her quiet.

Bethany and Dee-Dee track Lauren down to a squat, where Dee-Dee is shocked to find out that Lauren is pregnant. Lauren is fearful of coming out of hiding, yet Dee-Dee eventually convinces her she’ll be safe at the hospital for a prenatal check-up.

Unfortunately, Dee-Dee shares what she’s learned with her fiancé Joel, still unaware that he’s the one who viciously attacked Lauren and sent her into hiding. DS Swain is also hoping to bring Lauren in for questioning to find out the identity of her attacker.

Lauren faces immense pressure from all sides — especially from Joel, who tries to keep her quiet at all costs with empty promises and frightening threats during a sinister hospital visit.

Channique Sterling-Brown, who plays Dee-Dee, recently hinted at Joel’s downfall once her character finds out about his dark deeds.

“I think for Dee-Dee we’re going to see different sides of her. We know she is feisty and strong. She will want justice I believe, but also there’s got to be an element of this vulnerability and this reality – her whole world and everything she thought was going to be her future is going to come completely crashing down around her,” she said.

“I am excited to film that and to flesh the character out a bit more, and for her to go on that journey.”

Coronation Street airs on Mondays, Wednesdays and Fridays at 8pm on ITV1 and streams on ITVX.
