Coronation Street star Helen Worth is due to film her final scenes as Gail Rodwell this week, ahead of her exit from the soap.
The actor announced in June that she was leaving her iconic role as Gail this year, after 50 years of playing the unlucky-in-love matriarch of the Platt family.
The Daily Mail reports that Worth is entering her last week of working on the show, as she films Gail’s exit scenes.

The specific details of Gail’s departure storyline have not been confirmed, but Sunday’s episode (October 27) saw her get engaged to the recently returned Jesse Chadwick after he accepted her marriage proposal following her sudden health scare.
The pair were recently reunited on the cobbles after their previous off-screen time together in Thailand, and they soon revealed to Gail’s family that they were in a romantic relationship.
It remains to be seen whether Gail and Jesse will marry before Gail leaves Weatherfield behind, but Corrie’s executive producer Iain MacLeod has confirmed that Gail won’t be getting a tragic exit.
“Gail won’t die. It didn’t feel like killing her off would be right,” he said. “Gail’s exit is a brilliant story. I thought, ‘What do the viewers want to see?’

“Gail has had a hard life. She had a difficult childhood and disastrous marriages. So, we thought what viewers really want is a happy ending for her, so that’s what we’re doing.”
It was recently reported that Gail’s exit storyline will feature a wedding, although Coronation Street declined to comment on any story speculation.
After announcing her upcoming departure from the famous cobbles, Worth said: “This year felt like the perfect time to leave the show after celebrating 50 years in the most wonderful job on the most wonderful street in the world.”
She added: “The past 50 years have flown by, and I don’t think the fact that I am leaving has quite sunk in yet”.
Coronation Street airs on Mondays, Wednesdays and Fridays at 8pm on ITV1 and streams on ITVX.
