Coronation Street’s Paul star declares love as he delights with co-star snap ahead of exit

Coronation Street star Peter Ash has declared his love for his castmates as he delighted fans with a snap of himself with his on-screen family. The actor took to social media as he joined a catch-up away from the cobbles, where he is earning praise for playing Paul Foreman.

As fans of the ITV soap know, Peter is currently playing Paul’s journey with Motor Neurone Disease (MND). The former builder was told of the life-shortening disease, in which messages from the motor neurones gradually stop reaching the muscles, in April 2023 with there currently being no cure.

Then earlier this year, Paul’s husband Billy Mayhew discovered that Paul had been secretly planning to take matters into his own hands and decide when his life would come to an end as his symptoms caused by the life-limiting disease progress.

Viewers have since been left heartbroken watching Paul slowly lose the ability to use his limbs with his speech also deteriorating. He’s also currently facing trouble with his mum, Bernie Witner, after he and sister Gemma discovered she’d given birth to another son after them, with Kit Green now in their lives.

Away from the hard-hitting scenes, it’s fair to say Peter gets on like a house on fire with his co-stars and was seen enjoying some drinks with Billy actor Daniel Brocklebank, Bernie actress Jane Hazlegrove, Harriet Bibby and Gareth Pierce, who star as Summer Spellman and Todd Grimshaw.

Captioning the photo, in which the co-stars could be seen huddled together in a pub and smiling for the camera, Peter wrote: “Love these guys. A real dream team! @danielbrocklebank @harrietanneb @garpierce @jane_hazlegrove #Friends #Colleagues.”

Responding to the post, Jane wrote: “And you are so loved too kiddo… so loved! The rest of them are all right and all!!” Gareth also said: “Back atcha, dreamboat!” Emmerdale star Laura Norton simply replied: “Lush.”
