Coronation Street star Kate Ford has been flooded with messages after she shared her ‘eye opening’ experince. The actress took to social media at the start of the week as she shared her concerns for her beloved pet cat.
Kate, who is famed for playing Tracy Barlow in the ITV soap is the proud owner of a beautiful Ragdoll cat, named Walter. She announced his arrival into their family in January 2023.
Alongside pictures of the adorable feline, she told her fans and followers at the time: “Our new family member , we are in love .. #SirWalter.”

But like many pet owners at this time of year, Kate found herself struggling to console Walter as a result of the fireworks. The 47-year-old, who actually owns two cats, revealed the impact the fireworks around Bonfire Night on Tuesday (Novemebr 5) wa shaving.
Alongside a picture of her newer addition, the soap star shared: “Little Walt has been really scared by the fireworks this year, our other cat Ted wasnât as affected but seeing how badly it has bothered him has been an eye opener. Heâs inside and more relaxed now thankfully.”
And she was quickly flooded with comments. @redwingsuk said: “Bless him, so sorry to hear he’s struggled with them Kate, hopefully they will be over soon but there seems to have been more than ever this weekend.” @blondnorse commented: “Looks like a Ragdoll. They’re so loud sometimes, hope he’s settled now.” @dlans56 added: “What a gorgeous cat Iâm so sorry he struggled, the fireworks have been so loud and itâs so unfair to the animals, tonight is the first night for a week that itâs been quiet outside thank goodness.”
