On the occasion of Defence and Martyrs Day, various ceremonies and programs were organized in Karachi, in which Corps Commander Karachi, Lieutenant General Babar Iftikhar, HI (M), participated alongside the families of Martyrs and war veterans.
At the outset of the day, Corps Commander Karachi visited Mazar-e-Quaid, where he laid a floral wreath. After saluting at Mazar-e-Quaid, Corps Commander penned his thoughts in the guest book. Subsequently, the Corps Commander participated in a special ceremony held at the Martyr’s Memorial in Malir Cantonment. Sindh Governor Kamran Tesori, accompanied by Corps Commander Lieutenant General Babar Iftikhar, attended the Martyrs Memorial. Ministers, the DG Rangers, IG Sindh, and other attendees also visited the martyrs’ memorial and laid floral wreaths. The relatives of the martyrs and Ghazis also paid their respects at the martyrs’ memorial and laid floral wreaths.
Paying tribute to the great sacrifices of the martyrs, the participants offered prayers for the elevation of the ranks of Pakistan’s fallen heroes. On this occasion, the Sindh Governor lauded the sacrifices of the martyrs, stating that their sacrifices are the nation’s capital. Corps Commander described the resilience and patience of the martyrs’ families as a beacon for the nation and acknowledged the sacrifices made by other law enforcement agencies in the war against terrorism, in addition to the defense agencies. Governor Sindh and Corps Commander Karachi met with the families of the martyrs, commending their determination and courage. The families of the martyrs expressed their unwavering devotion and faith in their homeland.
Later, Corps Commander Karachi visited the residences of martyrs’ families. He met with the family members of Brigadier Hussain Shaheed and Havaldar Azam Shaheed, paying rich tribute to their eternal sacrifices. Corps Commander stated that our martyrs are our pride, thanks to whom we are an independent and proud nation today. The families of the martyrs thanked the Corps Commander for his unwavering support and expressed their readiness to make further sacrifices for their country. Corps Commander also performed Fatiha Khwani along with the families of the martyrs.
