Corpus Christi police and the U.S. Marshals Service arrested a man who police said had shot at officers, injuring one, while they were attempting to serve him a warrant for aggravated assault with a deadly weapon on Wednesday.
The Corpus Christi Police Department worked with the U.S. Marshals Gulf Coast Violent Offenders Fugitive Task Force to find Juliano Carrillo, 34, and the agencies arrested him Thursday afternoon at a home in the 4700 block of Easter Drive, the department said in a news release. He was booked into the City Detention Center, and his bail was set at $50,000.
The department said it would pursue charges of aggravated assault on a peace officer against Carrillo.

Officers attempted to serve the warrant on Carrillo shortly after 10 p.m. Wednesday at a residence in the 4700 block of Lansdown Drive, the Police Department said in a news release. They said Carrillo fired a single shot from inside the home, and one officer suffered minor injuries.
Hostage negotiators attempted to call out to Carrillo, and after that was unsuccessful, SWAT operators used drones and robots to clear the residence. After a thorough search, Carrillo was not found inside the home.
