Crews respond to Sioux Falls house fire

SIOUX FALLS, S.D. (KELO) — Emergency response teams were issued to a house fire near the intersection of Galway and Samantha Drive in Sioux Falls Sunday morning.

Crews had sections of the street closed off as they battled the fire.

Fire Rescue recieved a call at 8:57 am notifying them of a house fire on the intersection of Galway and Samantha Drive.

The cause of the fire is still under investigation. Fire watch will continue for the time being to make sure there is no rekindling of the fire.

According to a battalion chief, fire was estimated to be extinguished within ten minutes of arrival.

Crews arrived at 8:59 am and began battling the fire.

The house was unoccupied at the time of the fire. Fire rescue says that the home owners are in the process of being contacted.

Police were also present to help block off the road and help the fire fighters conduct their job in a safe manner.
