Nov. 16—CROOKSTON, Minn. — The Crookston Area Community Fund (CACF), part of the Northwest Minnesota Foundation, announced fall grant awards to eight local groups totaling $24,955, a press release said.
Those who received the grants are: Care and Share of Crookston; Polk County DAC; Crookston Pickleball Club; Golden Link Senior Center; Don’t Call Me Josephine; Scruffy Tails Humane Society; Crookston Housing and Economic Development Authority/Oak Court Apartments; and Polk county Social Services Family Resource Center.
The projects the grants will go to include: dog and cat food pantry replenishment; cultural reflection circles; enhancements to Schuster Park pickleball courts; conversion of a garage into classrooms; food freezer repairs; and new supplies and equipment for new family space, the release said.

“The CACF issued the fall round of grants to community organizations that strengthen our town by weaving a fabric of support for Crookston residents,” said Shirley Iverson, CACF board chair. “These organizations ensure that some of our most vulnerable have what they need to thrive.”
The CACF accepts donations year round and gives funding to “charitable, educational and public purpose projects that enhance or improve the quality of life for residents and/or visitors of the Crookston area,” the release said.
