Des Moines police are investigating an officer-involved shooting that occurred Tuesday morning.
At approximately 6:07 a.m. Des Moines police officers responded to 430 Grand Ave. to investigate a report of a man threatening a woman with a gun. During the investigation, a shooting occurred, according to a news release from Sgt. Paul Parizek.
Des Moines Fire Department paramedics were called to the scene, according to the news release. It’s not known who fired shots or how many people may be injured.

The intersection of Fifth Avenue and Grand Avenue is temporarily closed while the investigation is in its preliminary stages.
