Jefferson County Public Schools is operating on a non-traditional instruction day Wednesday due to weather conditions.
JCPS spokesperson Carolyn Callahan said that students will be online Wednesday as temperatures are forecast to drop well below freezing, and a cold weather advisory remains in effect until 10 a.m., according to the National Weather Service.
“This decision was made with the safety and well-being of our students in mind, as they would be waiting at bus stops and walking to school in extremely cold conditions. We are also taking into consideration our school buildings and the stress these low temperatures could cause on the facilities,” Callahan said in a statement.
