A driver was arrested for suspected impairment after crashing his vehicle off the southbound Interstate 5 ramp to Mercer Street in Seattle on Wednesday night, according to the Washington State Patrol.
The driver struck a barrier, sending his vehicle over the edge and down approximately 40 feet.
The driver told troopers on the scene that he had fallen asleep at the wheel.
Despite the significant fall, the driver was not injured.
The Washington State Patrol is continuing to investigate the crash.
